This online course explains the requirements for the new food allergen labelling legislation on foods that are Pre-packed for Direct Sale (PPDS), commonly known as Natasha's Law. It includes background information about allergens, labelling controls, definitions of PPDS, and the requirements for businesses to comply with the new legislation.
Staff working in businesses such as butchers, delicatessens, cafes, mobile food units, coffee shops, canteen staff, bakers, confectioners, sandwich shops, charities, stall holders, local authorities, staff canteens, farm shops, and event organisers will find the course useful.
The course is delivered online in a modular, easy-to-use format, allowing completion at your own pace. It features a blend of video, images, interactive assessments, a decision tree, and fact-checking to ensure retention of information.
The course covers essential topics such as the background of Natasha's Law, labelling controls for the 14 allergens recognized by law, different ways food can be packaged and presented, the definition of Pre-packed for Direct Sale Food, and the requirements for businesses to comply with the new legislation.
