At the close of the course you will have an increased knowledge and understanding of the laws relating to pack copy creation and legal labelling. You will be aware of the impact of retailer policy and be able to produce 'right first time' specifications.
There is a short multiple-choice test at the end of day. Successful candidates will achieve the FDQ Legal Labelling Certificate.

This one-day course is designed to provide a working knowledge of legislative requirements for food composition and labelling. It enables delegates to confidently assess product specifications, pack copy, and artwork for legality, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The course is suitable for Specification Technologists, Technical Managers, Product Developers, Label Designers, and Artwork approvers responsible for legality. It aims to increase knowledge and understanding of the laws relating to pack copy creation and legal labelling.
The course covers essential topics such as product title and brand names, legal names and customary names, marketing sub-descriptors & claims, additives, allergens, nutrition and health claims, ingredients declarations and QUIDs, origin marking and protected names, date coding, and EU proposals for new Food Information Regulations.
The course is delivered either face-to-face at the training centre in Skipton, North Yorkshire, UK, or remotely online. The remote option is delivered live and requires a computer and Internet connection, with full details and login information provided before the start of the course.
Participants will gain increased knowledge and understanding of legal labelling, awareness of retailer policy impact, the ability to produce 'right first time' specifications, continuous professional development, and potential for reduced costs and fewer delays at artwork.
There is a short multiple-choice test at the end of the day. Successful candidates will achieve the FDQ Legal Labelling Certificate, demonstrating their understanding of their increased knowledge and understanding of legal labelling requirements.
The course fee is £495 +VAT per person. The fee includes a course binder, notes, lunch and refreshments for classroom courses, exam fee and FDQ certificate.
