{"id":2564,"date":"2013-04-30T19:57:19","date_gmt":"2013-04-30T19:57:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vwa.co.uk\/blog\/?p=2564"},"modified":"2025-05-12T09:46:47","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T09:46:47","slug":"monthly-update-from-vwa-april-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/blog\/monthly-update-from-vwa-april-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Monthly Update from VWA: April 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Welcome to\u00a0our <strong>April\u00a0update<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; keeping you informed of all the latest news from\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Verner Wheelock Associates<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>April Training Courses<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We were extremely busy during April running open courses at our training centre in Yorkshire, and also in-house at customer premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open courses in Skipton from our <a title=\"Verner Wheelock Training Calendar\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/food-industry-training-calendar.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Training Calendar<\/a> included <a title=\"Level 2 HACCP\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/haccp\/haccp-training-courses.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Level 2 HACCP<\/a> and <a title=\"HACCP Level 3\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/haccp\/Level-3-haccp-training-course.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Level 3 HACCP<\/a> training and <a title=\"Lead Auditor Training\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/auditing\/lead-auditor-course.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Auditor\/Lead Auditor<\/a> which took place at the <a title=\"Tempest Arms\" href=\"https:\/\/tempestarms.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tempest Arms<\/a>. As always, the Lead Auditor training included a practical group exercise of a &nbsp;&#8216;live&#8217; audit which all the delegates found most beneficial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In-house courses included <a title=\"HACCP Level 2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/haccp\/haccp-training-courses.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Level 2 HACCP<\/a> training for Coca Cola, Payne&#8217;s Dairies, Nimbus Foods and Kinnerton Confectionery,&nbsp;<a title=\"Auditing Training\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/auditing\/auditing-skills-course.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Auditing Skills<\/a>&nbsp;for Tom Walker &amp; Sons (Cheese Supplier) and Kinnerton Confectionery, <a title=\"HACCP Refresher Training\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/haccp\/haccp-refresher-course.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HACCP refresher<\/a>&nbsp;training for Vion Sandycroft site, and&nbsp;<a title=\"Food Safety Level 3\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/food-safety\/level3-food-safety-hygiene-course.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Level 3 Food Safety<\/a>&nbsp; for Nestle UK. It was good to be able to provide training to some of our longstanding customers while taking on board a number of new clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are always happy to discuss individual requirements in order to match courses to the training needs of a company. If you don&#8217;t see exactly what you need on our website, please contact us and we would be glad to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Staff Training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Normally we are on the lookout for funding opportunities for our clients, but recently we have been fortunate enough to benefit from some free business support for our own staff through Superfast North Yorkshire. This is an EU funded project to help rural residents and businesses get the most out of using the internet and promotes fibre broadband services around the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VWA staff have attended Masterclasses in<strong> Social Media <\/strong>and<strong> Search Engine Optimisation<\/strong> so look out for a few changes to our website over the next few weeks and find us on Twitter,&nbsp;Facebook&nbsp;and Linkedin for all our latest updates. If you are based in North Yorkshire and would like to find out more about the project and potential support for your own business visit the SFNY website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Results<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We are delighted to confirm that we had a <strong>100% pass rate<\/strong> on our RSPH Level 3 HACCP course in Skipton in April. Also, <strong>90% of delegates achieved a Distinction<\/strong> for achieving 38 marks out of 45 on the multiple choice test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the <a title=\"Level 2 HACCP\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/haccp\/Level-2-haccp-training-course.html\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Level 2 HACCP<\/a> course we had a <strong>92% pass rate<\/strong> (Distinctions are not available at this level).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Feedback and testimonials &#8211; HACCP Level 4<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our <a title=\"HACCP Level 4\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vwa.co.uk\/haccp\/Level-4-haccp-training-course.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Level 4 HACCP<\/a> training course is one of our most popular courses. Here are just a few comments from recent courses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Well explained, good use of learning materials. Trainer had extensive knowledge of HACCP.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Good pace and with enough detail to ensure all aspects are covered without it becoming too much and confusing!&nbsp;Peter (Clarke) is obviously very knowledgeable about the subject but also had a good rapport with the trainees, enabling everyone to feel at ease to ask questions.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Explained and trained very well.
