Ensuring your products carry messages that are accurate and legally compliant is essential. Getting it wrong can not only be misleading but could affect the health of certain consumers with allergies, for instance.

Get labelling licked in a day

The Verner Wheelock Legal Labelling course covers all the essentials in a single day. Written and delivered by a food labelling expert. it takes you through pack artwork requirements from size of text through QUID, storage instructions, ingredients lists, use of flavours, legal names of products, durability, nutrition declarations and more. There is a deeper exploration of nutrition and health claims, where delegates find out what is and is not acceptable. Plus of course there is reference to the Food Information Regulation, Natasha’s Law and other legal issues such as the Windsor Framework.

“There is so much information required on food packaging these days that you really need to be up-to-speed,” says Rachel Maud, VWA’s Marketing Manager. “There are strict rules regarding product descriptions, health claims, allergen information, positioning and size of information – and that’s just for starters. In a single day, delegates on our Legal Labelling course will understand the basics and be able to assess their own product labelling with confidence.”

Tuition by labelling expert

The trainer, Ashley Finney, is a Senior Regulatory Manager at one of the North’s leading product branding companies. In addition he has worked in compliance for several years at one of the big five supermarkets. Unsurprisingly, he is very experienced and is happy to answer any questions that delegates might have throughout the day. Attendees are welcome to bring samples of their own labels in to the training session.

For companies wishing to train upwards of five staff members, the Legal Labelling course can be delivered in-house, either face-to-face at their own premises or remotely via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. In-house training also gives the opportunity for bespoke content, where the course is geared specifically to that company’s labelling requirements.

Excellent feedback for labelling course

Typical post-course feedback includes:

“The course was informative and enjoyable and met our specific needs. The course materials were very useful and will be a handy guide going forwards.”

“Excellent course, very informative and presented well. Folder with course content is first class.”

“Training was well presented and covered everything I was expecting.
