Happy New Year! We’re back at VWA HQ with some exciting news. In 2023 we’re launching not one, but two brand new training courses: Managing Vegan Requirements and Enabling a Positive Food Safety Culture. Both are one-day courses and are certificated by Food and Drink Qualifications (FDQ).
Managing Vegan Requirements
Managing Vegan Requirements has been developed to help QA and Technical or NPD managers understand what constitutes a vegan product, how to comply with vegan requirements and how to implement production controls to maintain product integrity.
Managing Director, Alison Wheelock, says, “The market for vegan products has grown considerably in recent years. This course will help manufacturers to ensure that the food they produce is 100 percent vegan.”
The new Managing Vegan Requirements course is suitable for Technical Managers or those working in Quality Assurance. It will also be beneficial for anyone working in a supervisory role in key areas in manufacturing such as production, planning, warehousing etc. as well as NPD and development chefs.

Enabling a Positive Food Safety Culture
New course Enabling a Positive Food Safety Culture incorporates the food safety culture requirements of the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety and is designed for anyone with a leadership, managerial or supervisory role within the food industry. It communicates the benefits of a positive food safety culture and assists delegates with its implementation.
It also demonstrates how to lead by example and develop a mindset for continuous improvement throughout the delegates’ businesses.
The first course on Enabling a Positive Food Safety Culture takes place on 17th May.
“This is a course that has been in the pipeline for some time,” says Alison. “The emphasis on a positive food safety culture within the BRCGS Standard has confirmed our belief that this is essential training for food businesses, whatever their size.”
Choose how you attend
Both courses take place at our training centre in Skipton, North Yorkshire, close to the railway station. However there is also the option to attend remotely. Those with five or more staff to train might like to consider in-house training at your own premises.
