Training and Consultancy
We have had a busy start to the year helping companies prepare for BRC audits. This included consultancy on product specifications for a leading supplier of fresh and dry ingredients to the food service industry, and HACCP consultancy for a sports supplement manufacturer.
We delivered a range of in-house food safety, HACCP, and auditing training for clients across England and Scotland, including the Meat Managers Hygiene and HACCP training for several butchers through the SFMTA – with two more courses in Scotland planned for February. The HACCP training included a Level 4 course for a leading dairy food company, as well as Level 3 and 4 courses here in Skipton.
January has been quite an international month for us here at VWA with enquiries and bookings from as far afield as Nigeria, Cameroon and the Falkland Isles!
Our Auditing Skills course on 30-31st January was fully subscribed and it was a welcome return to our favourite venue, the Tempest Arms. Also congratulations are in order for VWA staff members Carole Dickason and Jason Kearton who attended the recent Level 3 Award in HACCP for Food manufacturing and passed with flying colours!
We currently have a few last minute places for February, as follows:

- Level 3 /4 HACCP Refresher 25th Feb
- Level 3 Award in HACCP 26 – 27th Feb

January was a busy month for Ethical Audits with a couple of audits taking place in the south of England and numerous confirmed bookings from one of our regular meat industry clients, arranging their bi-annual audits for several sites. It’s good to see a large company taking ethical trading very seriously and also planning training in auditing skills and ethical trading for staff later on the year.

Still seeking experienced HACCP and Food Safety trainers
Due to popualar demand for our training courses we are still looking for experienced HACCP and Food Safety trainers to work with us on a freelance basis. Minimum criteria for our trainers is:
- Level 4 Food Safety and/or Level 4 HACCP qualifications
- A teaching or training qualification
- Several years of food industry experience
Ideally we are looking for experienced trainers, but we would also be interested in talking to those who are currently working within the food industry and are looking to make a career change to become a trainer.
