March Training Courses
Open Courses
March was a very busy month for advanced level open courses with hardly a spare day available in our training room! The month started off with Level 4 Food Safety followed by Level 4 HACCP and FDQ Lead Auditor Certificate.

The month finished off with the introductory level Ethical Trading Workshop which is aimed at those who are new to SMETA Ethical Audits. It is ideal for those who need to know the basics of the ETI Base Code in order to implement an ethical trading policy and prepare for an ethical audit. Carole from Verner Wheelock attended the course, run by HR Specialist and Ethical Auditor, Wendy Ingrey, and found it very informative.
Then we had the RSPH Diploma in Nutrition & Health – Sports & Leisure option during the last week of March. It was good to see lots of old faces from previous courses as well as a few new ones!
In-house
We were probably just as busy on the in-house front during March as we were for open courses. The Level 3 Food Safety proved very popular, as did Level 2 HACCP, Level 3 HACCP and the FDQ Auditing Skills Certificate, as always. We also ran client-based HACCP and Food Safety refreshers as well as Allergen training and a BRC v4 Packaging course.

Staff News
Get well soon to Jason who managed to fracture a bone in his leg at Jujitsu! After just one week off he was bored of staying at home, so was soon back at work!
As part of our re-branding we have had some gilets embroidered with the new Verner Wheelock logo. See photo (right) of Kathryn Wheelock modelling the new waistcoats – proof that they are ideal for dressage riders as well as for in the office!
Foodex 2014
We had a great show at Foodex!
We met with lots of existing clients as well as plenty of new contacts.
We offered a show discount of 15% which was extended until the end of March. If you didn’t manage to come and see us at Foodex, 10% is being offered throughout April off all Skipton courses to celebrate the launch of our new brand.

Results
Well done to all those delegates who have passed their FDQ Lead Auditor course. On the latest course we had 100% pass rate with 50% of those passing achieving a Distinction!
