From February 2015 we will be running some workshops to help food manufacturers familiarise themselves with Issue 7 of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.
These courses will look at the changes made to Issue 7 of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety (January 2015), in relation to Issue 6. According to BRC, the updates will cover the following areas:
- High Risk/ high care
- Labelling and change-overs
- Factored goods
- Modular approach
- Earned recognition
- Audit Style
Traceability and authenticity are clearly high on everyone’s agenda following the Horsemeat Scandal, and with the new legislation on food labelling coming into force from December 2014 this is another area where changes are occurring throughout the industry.
Certification against the new Standard will start from July 2015, so as soon as the new Standard is available you should start to revise your systems in preparation for your BRC audit in 2015/16.
