Our new Training Support Assistant is the lovely Amberley North. Amberley’s main role is collating and preparing all the course material for our open and in-house courses.
We had a bumper year in terms of courses in 2016 and judging by the rate at which courses are filling up already, Amberley will be kept busy all year!
Amberley has a keen interest in food and has excellent customer service skills. She combined the two in her previous job working in a small bakery, where she baked and also served at the counter. She is extremely organised and has taken to her new role at Verner Wheelock like a duck to water. She has passed her Level 3 HACCP exam and, in fact, it’s hard to believe she’s only been with us since December.
Amberley lives close-by in Skipton with her six year-old son, Malackai.
We asked her:
What is the best thing about your new job? Working with nice people, I’m interested in the courses and learning new things within the food industry. It’s also a lovely place to work and go for a walk, when it’s not raining!
Ideal job?: Formula One Mechanic
Favourite Food: Chocolate and lasagne (not in the same dish we hope!
TV Programme: Friends
Film: The Lost Boys
Book: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas – John Boyne
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take 3 things with you, what would they be?
1. Malackai
2. Chocolate
3. Board games
What annoys you? Rude people and bad drivers
What makes you happy? Malackai
If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Flight or invisibility
Favourite place in the world? My house, Belgium and Bournemouth
What do you do in your spare time? I’m a massive Formula One fan, so I watch a lot of that. I also like walking around the Dales and going out to eat.
If you attend one of our training courses here in Skipton, you’ll no doubt meet Amberley and her colleague, Rachael, early on, as they always ensure that the training room is well stocked with refreshments!
